Sclerotization of the veins

Sclerotization is a method of treating varicose veins. The treatment consists in disrupting the inner layer of the vein by injecting a sclerotization agent, which through a chemical process improves the vascular walls and breaks down the stagnant part of the blood and varicose veins by its own metabolism.
Pre-operative care
Before and after the treatment itself, it is recommended that the patient follow a drinking regimen of 2.5-3 litres of fluids per day.
Post-operative care
After the sclerotization, compression stockings must be worn for 72 hours, including at night. During this time, the walls of the vein closes and the absorption process begins.

Durability of treatment
Although the sclerotization removes affected capillaries, it needs to be noted that venous disease (similar to high blood pressure) is a chronic and progressive illness, so the likelihood of recurrence is high.
