How does the operation run?
Liposuction can be performed in the case of minor interventions under local anaesthesia. When larger areas are to be treated, it is performed under general anaesthesia. Using a saline solution containing a local anaesthetic and adrenaline to reduce blood loss, the targeted fat cells are pervaded. This solution makes it easier to remove the fat, and it also reduces post-operative swelling and bruising. Subsequently, through the cannula and using a vacuum device, the subcutaneous fat in the target site is suctioned away. The duration of the operation itself is approximately 1-2 hours, always depending on the location and the amount of fat removed.
